Dholera Smart City Project Ahmedabad, Dholera Land Investment Gujarat

India is the 9th largest civil aviation market in the world. India is set to surpass UK and become the 3rd largest aviation market round 2024. India plans to increase the number of airports to 250 by 2030 to cater to growing leisure and business travel.

Government of Gujarat (GoG) has formed on SPV, Dholera International Airport Company Ltd (DIACL) to facilitate the Dholera Airport Project. Airport Authority of India (AAI) and National Industrial Corridor Development & Implementation Trust (NICDIT) are the stakeholders of DIACL.

The proposed Greenfield Airport will be developed as the second airport of Ahmedabad and serve the logistic and cargo requirement of DSIR.

DIACL, a joint venture is formed to develop the airport project with equity participation from AAI, GoG and NICDIT.
The airport is strategically located amongst the big cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, etc, while also connecting several international air routes.
1426 hectare of Government land at Navagam Village of Dholera Taluka Ahmedabad District has been allotted for Airport & City Side Development.
The Site can accommodate two runways of 2900m and 4000m with parallel taxiways.

DIACL has received the following approvals
- No Objection from Ministry of Defence (MoD) for construction of Greenfield Airport
- Site Clearance from Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA)
- Environment Clearance from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC)
- In-principal Approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA)
